On Monday we travelled from Jarrahdene to Fonty’s Pools stopping off in Pemberton to gather information from Visitor Centre and coffee at Jarrah and Jade cafe. Fonty’s Pools ended up being closer to Manjimup but was still a good base for the area. The Pools themselves were naturally fed from a spring and creek and felt quite fresh in temperature and quality for a quick swim to tick the box.

As it was a bit drizzly Tuesday morning, we decided drive the Kari Forest Explorer tourist drive visiting the Big Karri tree, Warren River Cedar and Big Brook Arboretum on the way to the Pemberton Tram. The Tram ride took us through the forest to the Cascades. We had about 20min to do a small walk around the cascades before catching the tram back down. We finished the morning with another coffee / lunch at Jarrah and Jade cafe.

That afternoon we hiked through Beedelup Forrest on the Beedelup Loop walk. This took us to the walk through tree, down through Karri Valley Resort and around the lake back via the suspension bridge. To finish the day we dropped into the Southern Forests Chocolate factory for a tasting and hot chocolate.

Wednesday, Mark and I decided to do a slightly longer hike instead of driving the tourist drive. Starting with Mark climbing the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree we headed out on the 12km Warren River Loop walk. A great hike through the forest and along the Warren River to lookouts and back to Bicentennial Tree. We dropped in to the Gloucester tree which is under repair so fenced off. We thought the platform on the Bicentennial Tree was higher than the first platform on the Gloucester Tree but whether they reopen the higher platform on the Gloucester Tree to be seen.
