Jindabyne was one of our main destinations. We booked three nights at the Adventist Alpine Village which was just up the hill behind Jindabyne. High on the agenda was hiking to the summit of Kosciusko (see what I did there 🤪) and checking out the summer activities in Thredbo.

We had a nice scenic drive from Coolac to Jindabyne along the Snowy Mountains Highway. There were a couple of stops along the way. Coffee in Tumut and lunch in Adaminaby.

After arriving and setting up the vans we headed to Jindabyne Brewing for some refreshments. The campsite was nice and open with paddocks for horses and alpacas. Lots of birdlife around including some friendly peacocks.

Friday we headed up to Thredbo and bought a pass for the chairlift and a few other activities. At the top we hiked along the boardwalk to the Thredbo Summit. To the summit and back was just over 13km. We stopped at the top for photos and a snack with a view. it was a beautiful day apart from the flies.

Included in our Thredbo pass was a ride on the Alpine Coaster. This was great fun!

Next day we did our own things. Karen and I went back to Thredbo to tackle another hike. This was all part of our preparation for our upcoming trip to South America which had been interrupted somewhat by my knee operation back in November. We chose the Dead Horse Gap Track which was a little more challenging than the relatively easy Summit Track. It was a lot of downhill which really tested out the knee.
